Hello and welcome to a brand-new blog: “Meditations & Musings.” We live in an ever-changing culture, a culture that is increasingly resistant to Biblical values, and Christians need to think deeply about right and wrong ways to navigate the streams and tides of society.
With the theme of “thinking Scripturally while reacting culturally,” we want to reflect on what the Bible says about various matters that come into play in our daily lives, as well as the collective culture around us.
The apostle Paul wrote:
We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed — always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body (2 Cor. 4:8-10).
Let’s face it …
We do live in a world that presses in hard on every side, that is perplexing to say the least, where we are and will (increasingly) continue to be persecuted, and perhaps even struck down for our faith in Christ.
The question is …
Will we allow this to crush us? Will we despair? Do we truly believe we are not forsaken? Do we take solace in the fact that we will not be destroyed?
Let us remember what Christ has said:
I will never leave you nor forsake you (Heb. 13:5b). So we may boldly say: “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me” (Heb. 13:6)?
Meditations from the Scriptures and Musings about how to Apply them to Everyday Life … Who’s ready?
Buckle up, because we’re in for a ride!
Let’s get ready to think Scripturally as we react culturally.
With love always,
Chase
