Why this blog?
This is something I have thought about writing for a while now. My family and I absolutely LOVE taking trips to America’s National Parks when we can! We’ve been to 20 out of 63 (and counting) so far, and our goal is to tackle them all before our journeys are completed!
Philippians 4:8 says, “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy — meditate on these things.”
Sometimes, my family loves to meditate on the pure, majestic, and lovely beauty —yes, I know that’s a ton of adjectives; how could I not use a ton of adjectives to describe it?! — of God’s creation, and the grandeur of America’s National Parks helps us keep focused on the wonders of God’s creation!
Where we’re headed:
This blog is a chance for my family to encourage your family to get out and explore God’s beautiful creation together! The plan is to give you a list of our personal favorites, rate each park for things like scenic beauty, accessibility, busyness, wildlife viewing opportunities, amenities, and more.
Be on the lookout for our Top Ten Parks lists, Bottom Ten lists as well (which is unfortunate because they’re all wonderful, but some parks have to make up the bottom tier of our rankings!), and even a Most Desired list of parks we have yet to explore!
So be on the lookout for our forthcoming rankings, and be sure to leave a list of your favorite parks in the comments!
Keep exploring, friends!
